Light dimming around me
dangerous tavern it all seemed
Way to escape began to seek, I
gentle glow - an oil lamp so pleasant
A mild face, a smile you showed me.
Wander alone - so brave was I?
scorns, pats all alike I did get
Eyes set, face grit, shoulders high
yet panicky; a forest oh so thick
A guiding hand, a smile you showed me.
Sat a-sail, concluding calm seas
mighty storm I did not foresee
Waves lashing, thunder claps every minute
skies turned off everything I could see
Navigating star, a smile you showed me.
Warm, pleasant an evening; soon night
crickets in glee, they screech allright
Yet no moon, 'twas an eerie sight
alone, though never alone to flee
Company, a smile you showed me.
Wind, raindrops cleansing the Earth
soon gale, thunder all together
Furious, everywhere seen its wrath
lashing down on me, a shivering sight
Shelter, a smile you showed me.
trying times are no time to quit trying...
